9th &10th Grade Curriculum
The curriculum for 9th & 10th grade boys and girls is a combination of the following units:
Fitness Unit:
Fitness testing and how to improve your current level of fitness is the
core message throughout the unit. The Fitness Gram will be used to
measure and track the students' fitness scores. A copy of the Fitness
Gram will be mailed home. Students will learn how to use a number of
cardio equipment pieces, such as treadmills, ellipticals and exercise
bikes. This unit teaches students about cardiovascular and cardio
respiratory fitness topics. The students will also be exposed to the
weight room and various principles of resistance training.
Golf:
Teaches students the basic rules, skills, and etiquette of the lifetime
sport of golf. Students learn how and where they can golf, along with
the skills of putting, chipping, pitching, and the full swing.
Soccer:
Teaches students the basic rules and skills of soccer. Students are
taught how to dribble, pass, and shoot, along with basic strategies.
Tennis:
Teaches students the basic rules and skills of tennis. Students are
taught the rules of both single and double tennis. Students are also
taught to serve and forehand and backhand shots.
