LHS FBLA Students Earn Top Awards at LI Competition

LHS FBLA Students Earn Top Awards at LI CompetitionNineteen Longwood High School Future Business Leaders of America Chapter members recently participated in the FBLA Spring District Meeting, with eight members placing in the top three in their respective competitions.  Held over two weeks in February, FBLA members competed against 16 schools with more than 180 members.  
Congratulations to the following students on their outstanding achievements:
Accounting:  Cianna Williams, Third Place

Banking and Financial Systems: Malaika Iqbal, Second Place

Business Law:  Skylar Powe, Second Place

Client Service:  Bethlyn Cappas, Second Place

Economics:  Caleigh Kellerman, Third Place

Hospitality Management:  Imani Studdard, Third Place

Introduction to Financial Math:  Mya Faraone, Third Place

Public Speaking I:  Mya Faraone, Second Place 

Public Speaking II:  Natalia Cancel, Second Place 

Longwood High School FBLA Chapter President Caleigh Kellerman said that the spring meeting is just one of the many unique opportunities offered to members.  
“The meeting provides opportunities to learn new topics and grow as an individual,” said Caleigh.  “We are looking forward to the State Leadership Conference competitions held virtually in April.” 
The Longwood FBLA Chapter will also receive recognition at the April conference for their NYS Program of Work business-related portfolio, which included club activities including raising awareness for this year’s charity, Crisis Text Line; promoting membership; participating in opportunities for college and careers, and developing interpersonal and leadership skills.
