For students in grades 9, 10, and 11, we have arranged for make-up school pictures to be taken on Wednesday, February 24th, at the High School from 2pm until 7pm. No appointment is needed and this is the final in-school opportunity for underclassmen to be photographed by Lifetouch Studios.  Students should enter the building using Door #3. As a reminder, all students are required to bring their school ID and please remember, once on campus, all visitors are expected to follow social distancing requirements, including the wearing of a face mask or cloth, covering the nose and mouth.  Students will also be required to undergo a temperature check and complete a Covid-19 self-check form.  Kindly print and complete the picture form accessible via this link: Picture Day FlyerFeb1021.pdf

On-Line Course Selection for 2021-2022:
Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 will be able to pick their course requests for the 2021-2022 school year through the PowerSchool portal from Monday, February 22 - Friday, February 26. Please take some time to review the Course Guide with you child before the course selection process.  Students will get guidance from their school counselors over the next week in regards to the course selection process. Second Quarter Report Cards:
Due to the weather related school closures on Monday and Tuesday, second quarter report cards will be available via the Parent Portal at 3:00PM on Tuesday, February 9th.  Thank you!

Local Scholarships:
The 2021 Longwood High School Local Scholarship application is open and available to be completed!  Last year Longwood Seniors were awarded over $100,000.00 from local businesses and organizations.  The 2021 Local Scholarship can be found on your Naviance account, in the blue "What's New" box on the home screen.  Applications will be open from January 19 through March 12, 2021.

Stage II Phase-In Guidance:
As noted in the parent letter from Dr. Lonergan, available on the district's webpage, students will begin to be phased back into classrooms in February.  As per the plan, all current hybrid students will automatically be moved to a four-day a week hybrid model of in-school instruction.  To opt out of the four-day a week hybrid model, you must contact your child's counselor by Wednesday, January 13th.  If you opt out, your child will then be moved to full-time distance learning starting in February until April 9th.  All current Distance Learners (DL) must complete the appropriate grade level survey, available by clicking the link in the superintendent's letter on the district webpage, and indicate if they are opting to remain a Distance Learner or if they would like to return in February to the four-day a week hybrid model.  If a current DL does not complete the survey, the student will remain on DL until April 9th.  The survey must be completed by Friday, January 15th. This message is a supplement to Dr. Lonergan's letter. Please be sure to read Dr. Lonergan's letter in it's entirety for other important dates and information.  If you have any questions, please call your child's school counselor.

Visitors' Center:
In an effort to account for all visitors into the building, you will be asked at the guard booth in regards to the reason for your visit to the high school.  If you have business that requires access to the Visitors' Center, please pull up the curb outside the Visitors' Center entrance.  If you are not met by a staff member, please ring the bell and wait for instructions.   It may be necessary for you to wait in your vehicle until a staff member can assist you as we can only process one visitor at a time in the Visitors' Center in order to maintain social distancing. Masks must be worn when interacting with school faculty/staff and at all times while in the high school.  We thank you for your support and assistance.

Attendance:
Students who are enrolled in the hybrid model must attend in person classes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Students who are full time distance learners, must log into their teachers' Google classroom and follow teacher prompts/directions in order to be marked present.  If you child is legally absent for the day, and thus not able to attend in the manner described, please contact the Attendance Office so that the absence can be properly documented.

Parental Right to Decline Examination Waiver
If your child is eligible for the January 2021 Regents exemption due to the pandemic, and is eligible to graduate based on said exemption(s), you have the right to waive the exemption, thus requiring your child to return to school during the 20-21 academic year and decline the opportunity to graduate in January of 2021. If this is the case for your child, you will receive a letter indicating this option, as stated above. More information can be found at
